(November 17, 2020) WVCA would like to thank everyone for their support and understanding during this difficult time and know that our goal is to continue to provide in-person services as long as we can. With flu season, increased COVID-19 numbers and the holidays coming up, we want to remind everyone of the following polices we have in place to keep our children, families, staff and building safe. Please read the memo – here – on updated COVID-19 procedures.
(August 6, 2020) Wyoming Valley Children’s Association releases 2020-2021 COVID-19 school safety plan. Please click here to read the full safety plan and new guidelines.
(June 1, 2020) WVCA Families: Wyoming Valley Children’s Association (WVCA) will be opening for child care services ONLY in the yellow phase. Child care will run Monday-Friday each week. Please call our office at 570-714-1246 or email Silver at scanfield@wvcakids.org if you are interested in WVCA’s child care program. Note: Preschool education and therapy services are still virtual-only
(April 2, 2020) WVCA Families: As our world and community face unprecedented challenges, Wyoming Valley Children’s Association is committed to best serving our area’s children and families. While our school will remain closed until the government stay at home orders and Department of Education guidance change, we are still actively working on behalf of our families.
In keeping with our mission, WVCA has chosen to not charge families tuition from March 13, 2020 onward. Tuition will resume being billed once school has reopened. If a family has already paid tuition past March 13, 2020 – then a credit will be issued for when the school reopens, WVCA’s Summer Session or next school year. For questions regarding individual student situations and credit refunds, please contact me at nzanon@wvcakids.org. Adjusted tuition invoices or credit statements will be mailed to all families at the beginning of next week.
WVCA has also created dedicated website pages to connect families with community resources and at-home speech, physical and occupational activities. The links can be found below:

Additionally, our classroom teachers will be reaching out to parents regarding signing up for ClassDojo. WVCA staff will virtually communicate with parents through this interactive, online classroom management tool during the ongoing closure. Please look out for communications from your child’s teacher regarding sign-up information.
Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time. We will continue to communicate changes and school re-opening information as soon as it becomes available. If you have any questions, you can reach me via email at nzanon@wvcakids.org. Sending our thoughts to all those affected by this evolving health crisis. Please stay safe and healthy.
